Hello everyone,

I am currently facing the challenge of planning a kitchen for the first time. Overall, it’s going quite well, but I still have a few questions.

I would like to have a ceramic hob (Framtid) without an oven! Now the question is: which base cabinet can I use for it? There are special ones for ovens, but that always includes the oven. Can I, for example, use a sink base cabinet for this? Unfortunately, I have no idea how much space a hob without an oven needs.

The second thing is the dishwasher: it is lower than the rest of the kitchen. How can I best match that? Is it easier to build the dishwasher up, or could you, for example, just place it on the floor and make some kind of cover between the countertop and the dishwasher?

I will get help with assembling the kitchen with the appropriate tools (e.g., to cut the countertop to size). However, I was wondering how you make the hole for the faucet in the sink? I guess it is punched!?

Also, it is not clear to me whether the height specification of the base cabinets includes feet or not. Actually, the feet are usually sold separately, but then the cabinets would seem very tall to me? It concerns the standard Faktum elements.

I would really appreciate some tips and help!

Best regards!

Hello

the base cabinets themselves are 70cm high
the legs come in 16 or 21cm
worktop 3.9cm

for the dishwasher - best to build a plinth yourself so that the dishwasher reaches the bottom edge of the worktop!

for the hole of the faucet there is a tool at Ikea for a few euros!!!

any more questions?

Hello danza

basically every, if you want drawer elements under the cooktop, IKEA recommends to make the top drawer "blind" because of the risk that cutlery or other items can get damaged (I myself have circumvented this with a wall panel under the cooktop and also use the top drawer - 3-drawer cabinet - works excellently), you can also mount the cooktop over 2 base cabinets but you may have to cut out the two side walls from the top if the cooktop is higher than the countertop (visible through the countertop)

I hope I can help you!

if you have any further questions - I am online

best regards bergpriv

Hello Danza The way you phrase your question suggests that you do not exactly have any craftsmanship skills. I can only wish you good luck . By the way: Ikea does not have any tools with which you can drill or punch holes for faucets.

I am not necessarily clumsy, just very inexperienced. However, I have experienced help with tools, so no problem
