Ikea Hemnes bookshelf connect over corner?

Hello everyone,

I am currently planning to get rid of my Billy shelves from the living room and redo everything with Hemnes. Back then, I had chosen Billy because you can connect the bookshelves with a narrow one at an angle. With Hemnes, this solution is not suggested in catalogs. However, there are also narrow and wider bookshelves here. Has anyone successfully tried this before?

That is fundamentally a problem because the shelves overhang at the top. If you place the shelves at an angle so that the top corners touch, there will inevitably always be a gap unless you use a saw.

Thank you for your note. However, I am not sure if I understand you correctly. The idea was to insert a narrow Hemnes shelf at a 45-degree angle between two Hemnes wardrobes arranged at an angle. There are special profile irons for this in the Billy system. Maybe someone has mounted Hemnes wardrobes at an angle in a similar way.

That cannot work with Hemnes as the bottom panel protrudes over the frame.
