Ikea Expedit Shelf White and Black on Sale

Over the weekend, I went shopping at our Ikea again with a friend. I had already seen on TV in the commercial that the shelves from the Expedit series were available at a good price. So, into the weekend hustle and bustle full of families and couples. When I got to the mentioned find, they were only available in 2 colors: black and white. What now? Normally, the shelf I wanted costs 59.00 euros, but on sale only 39.00 euros. And actually, I wanted one in birch, but all gone, also in walnut all gone. Then I had to decide, either white or black, although I ruled out black because of the dust you would surely see. So only white was left, and I thought, now I have already driven 60 km, so I'll take the Expedit shelf too and save 20 euros. Today I will assemble it and see how it fits with the other furniture. What do you do when you really want a piece of furniture but it is only on sale not in the right color? Take it or leave it?

Hi Mula! I think it really depends on whether the color absolutely HAS TO be exactly as you imagined it, because otherwise it just wouldn’t match the other furniture, or if you just got it stuck in your head because you simply find it nicer that way ;) I would have bought it too. That’s generally always the case for me, whether with furniture or whatever. Then I might not have 100% what I actually wanted, but if I hadn’t taken it at all, I would have been much unhappier!!!! :D

The new white Expedit shelf fits in perfectly and assembling it was very easy. First, connect the top part with one side panel, then install the intermediate shelves one by one and finally the other bottom part plus the second side panel. Above all, it is now nicely organized again in the living room and the white is very neutral. The new Expedit looks great after all

same happened to me - the one day we were there I wanted a white one for my craft room and we already had to take one with damaged packaging because it was one of the last ones - there were still plenty of other colors :confused: 3 days later when we wanted to get another one in birch for our new lounge area in the shop where the kitchen is also birch there were plenty of white ones and not a single one left in birch - so we switched to a Billy shelf - meanwhile I think a white one would have been nice too :(

the white one is in my craft room - it was really easy to assemble and is already in full use :D

Why don't you ask an employee if you can't find "Eure Farbe"? Usually, the clothes come back in the next day anyway.
