IKEA Expedit shelf (4x4) "raise up"

Was there ever a model change, similar to Pax???
I’m also pretty sure I saw the small 2x2 Expedit with Capita feet at Ikea back then, and suddenly only the one with the wheels was available.
My shelves are from 2007/2008, I use them as bookcases. On one, this “veneer” decor had once peeled off, underneath was particleboard... hmm, maybe I should take a look at the Lillangen base after all.

No, there was no model change. It is still manufactured like that... Yes, underneath there is still a thin pressed board.
