Hello, we have the following problem assembling a Besta dresser:

We have 2 carcasses stacked, the bottom one is 64 cm high and above it one is 38 cm high. There are a total of 3 "Selsviken" drawers with push-to-open closure, one drawer 38 cm high at the very top and bottom each, and one 26 cm high drawer in the middle. That means 2 drawers need to go into the lower, taller carcass, but this is exactly the problem because they don’t fit. Either the upper, smaller drawer sits about 1 cm too high or too low, depending on which holes are used for the hinges – everything has already been tried.

However, this dresser was assembled exactly in this combination at Ikea as well – so it must somehow work.

Has anyone had this problem and knows a solution?

Thanks!
Taco

Hello,

have you noticed the different attachment for the bottom drawer front? Compare pages 9 and 10 of the assembly instructions:

Best regards
