Ikea bed Hopen creaks endlessly

Hello dear Ikea community,

I have had the Ikea Hopen bed in size 140x200 for a few years now. Unfortunately, I have been dissatisfied since then, as it creaks and grinds with even the smallest movement. Does anyone perhaps have any advice? I somehow feel that it is due to the metal slats etc... What exactly can I do?

Hello! Check if there are holes in the metal bars. If yes, then you can buy white plastic nipples with the corresponding screws at Ikea (I needed 16 for my bed) and then the problem should be solved (at least that was the case for me). If you want me to email you a photo of the nipples, let me know! Gina

Great, thanks for your tip. In the metal sides, quite a few screws are connected to the wood, but a few holes are still free. However, I don't have any plastic caps underneath (they weren't included either). Could that be the reason? I would appreciate a photo (sierra_sonne@yahoo.de)
