Hello Hans,
"Wash my fur, but don't get me wet!" - that doesn't work!
You are living in a bungalow; consequently, the statics were calculated accordingly. With a chance of maybe 5% the original builder kept the option open to add a floor later. So your first step should probably be towards a structural engineer. But you should keep in mind that remodeling/extension (if possible) cannot reasonably be done while living there.
You have already invested quite a bit in the house, why is selling not an option?
Who would voluntarily assume the warranty for such an approach?
Rhenish greetings
we are considering adding a floor to a Kampa bungalow built with timber frame construction. Is there a way to enclose the house with a solid construction and then gradually dismantle the old one so that we can live in it at the same time, or is that too much effort and cost?

An alternative would be something completely different or a demolition, or building "around it" once.

The existing basement is to be used further. (Is that even possible, what needs to be considered)
