Hello,

My girlfriend (25) and I (23) want to build a house in about 2-3 years. Starting in October, I will earn €2400 net, my girlfriend can only work 70% and therefore earns €1100 net.

So far, we have not been able to save any equity because I am still studying.

To my knowledge, building society contracts must run for at least 4 years. Is there another way to save some equity during this time, besides a daily/term deposit account?

Would you recommend a construction loan without/with little equity, or rather rent for longer (currently €650 cold rent)?

Best regards and thanks in advance

What speaks against a daily savings account? You will hardly get better interest rates over this period (an sparend). In your situation, I would wait the 2-3 years to save up some equity.

Best regards,
Sebastian

During the probation period, you won’t get a loan anyway.
Besides, you should first see how much is left monthly.

I personally don’t find [Bausparverträge] very attractive.
The advantage is that you can secure the good interest rates for the future now.
Just get a non-binding consultation. Until the allocation maturity, you can also get bullet loans from the [Bausparkasse].
The interest on deposited funds is obviously low at the moment.

Besides daily or fixed-term deposits, funds with low or no front-end load would be another option.
That is, of course, riskier. To minimize the risk, you could diversify a bit more.
