Hello everyone! Our construction work on and 2 meters around the house is finally completed... Of course, this has left some dirt on the clinker. Among other things, there are still white paint splashes from the painter who plastered and painted our upper floor white... How do I best clean our clinker? It is a Röben Brighton Kohle which is unfortunately NOT ACID-RESISTANT! Does anyone have specific product recommendations or procedures at hand? I would really appreciate it.

I would just pass it on to the painter first... if he’s not careful.

We already had so much trouble with him, I'm glad not to have him on the yard anymore. Besides, it’s only done half-heartedly anyway...

Unfortunately, I can't give you any advice. But definitely be careful that there are no residues/damages to the window frames during cleaning.

ok that’s an argument. Then I would write to the brick manufacturer next.

I think the most important question will be: What color was used to paint?

I would guess a common silicone resin paint or a silicate paint.
If I remember correctly, they cure chemically and "silicify" with the substrate. The problem with that is that there is no solvent for it. Probably only mechanical removal helps.

So in your case, careful sanding or scraping.
Water only works if it is still very fresh.

I myself just painted a wall outdoors today with silicone resin paint.
At one spot, some got on a paving stone; I only partially managed to remove it with a lot of vigorous scrubbing. But that was more like sanding off with a rough cloth.

Have you already paid the painter? Talk about the issue as a damage and maybe deduct it from the bill. On the other hand, he is a painter and should know what he’s doing and even knows how to remove his paint from clinker bricks. So he should be given a chance.
