Good day, I am new here in the forum and my name is Ingo, I just bought an old building apartment (about 40 years old), now the renovation/refurbishment will start soon. First, I want to replace the gas boiler that is over 25 years old and the windows that are 40 years old. A wall probably also needs to be moved, and I would like to insulate the radiator niches, which are 18cm deep with only 32cm wall thickness. From measuring, I can move the radiator about 6-7cm into the room. Now I am wondering what is best to insulate the niches with, as I don’t want to have mold afterward. First, I thought about a 4-6cm wood fiber insulation board + drywall panel which I could stick into the niche. Is that possible or is it not recommended? What other options are there? Regards Ingo
