Hello everyone,

after more than 3 years in our house, I unfortunately had to notice that our shower drain in the main bathroom, Geberit wall drain, has slight clogging symptoms. The water only drains slowly. I have regularly cleaned the hair strainer.

Does anyone have an idea how to clean it? I have already gotten a drain snake, but I can hardly or not at all get past the first two bends. It would also be nice to have a cross-sectional image of it, as there was no really helpful information from Geberit.

Thank you very much.

Matthias

I don't think much of chemistry, it has never helped us anyway. But I swear by these compressed air pumps, they are really great. However, it requires that you can seal the device tightly on the drain, like on a sink, bathtub, or toilet. I don't know what you mean by "Wandablauf".

I'll let this topic come to life...

I'm exactly interested in this wall drain. Unfortunately, you don't find much about it online (I don't really understand why!?), but over the years, the same problems keep popping up on different sites, not with many, but considering I could hardly read anything good, it's relatively bad.

Now, it could be that the drain is really crap or, as is almost always the case, satisfied customers rarely write about their positive experiences...

Has anyone perhaps gained experience with it by now? As I said, I'm pretty keen on the drain...

Do not take. I currently have it in my condominium and it clogs up easily and is difficult to clean in the depth. For me, it basically only works with chemicals. Additionally, the attachment of the cover is very wobbly. I recommend the floor drain Cleanline.

Thank you for your response, even if it wasn’t quite what I wanted to hear  .

Somehow I find it quite interesting, you describe exactly the problem that can sometimes be found online. We currently have the floor drain you mentioned and would ideally like to get rid of it (it won’t take forever anymore :) ). Every two weeks we have to take out the grate and clean the hair strainer because after just one and a half weeks the water no longer drains properly and you stand in the foam. In addition, the grout around the tiles near the grate looks increasingly unattractive, which is why I was looking for an alternative.
On vacation last year, we found the perfect solution for me in the hotel, the wall drain. It looked great and the rushing creek created by the torrential rain shower drained as if it flowed directly through the wall into a river without any narrowing. I was quite impressed because I knew if we had such a shower head at home, the entire bathroom would be flooded, without a doubt.

Can you understand what might be the reason for the poor water drainage in your case? Are there perhaps differences in the way it is installed that could result in different water drainage (I don’t know anything about it at all). Could it be that Geberit has been selling crap for so long and the wave of outrage wouldn’t be huge?
