Hello everyone, I bought a large 2-wing driveway gate second-hand, and also the posts of 1.80m. The gate itself has a total length of 4m. Now I want to cover the ugly green posts of 15x15cm, I thought of using planting stones, these concrete rings with always one stone stacked on top of another up to the end, and cut out the hinges for the gate in the top and bottom stone, or brick around it. What is the best way to do it like that..

Thanks for your ideas and answers.

Best regards Sam

with the original posts your gate opens over 90 degrees, if you cover the posts as planned your gate will no longer open, so new posts and new hinges on the gate

Ok.. I understand man, too bad, but what should I get then, thinner posts or long hinges? I thought I would set the stones very close to the post but I don't know how far I can open the gate.. so if the wings are up to vertical, that would also suit me, they don't need to open up to 90 degrees, the width I have is completely enough if the gate wings open up to vertical, so the wings are straight left and right when you look at them.

Ok all right true.. Man and how to proceed best now is no problem the posts can go away... But brick now I put 2 posts left and right and attach the hinges to the concrete or how best I see anyway posts made of concrete or stones built up everywhere..
