How much should a structural engineer cost?

we have already asked in a similar Q&A session how much the structural engineering for a multi-family house is allowed to cost.
My question is:
Can you calculate yourself (e.g., formula, etc.) what the statics should cost?
Or how can I be sure that the prices are reasonable?

Yes, there is the HOAI, or you agree on a fixed price. Alternatively, you can also be quite pragmatic and obtain three quotes to compare.

Google Hoai calculator, click on structural engineering, select HZIII and enter about 90% of the pure construction costs.
This amounts to about €90,000 for €1,000,000.
If it is a simple house (all floors the same, masonry, reinforced concrete ceilings...) you will probably be offered it considerably cheaper.
