How long does a water connection or part water connection last?

Hello, unfortunately I haven't found a more suitable place.... We already have a (partial) water connection on our property which was installed together with the development in the 80s.... Now there was an on-site appointment and we learned that 1.) the old partial connection is to be removed because it no longer complies with current regulations (but it was already paid for by the owners back then) 2.) the new connection should run past the side of the house because a light well at the front would "interfere" (but this then makes a difference of 10m straight away) What options does one have against a special-purpose association so that no additional costs of 1000€ arise here just because an employee personally has concerns about a light well.... And how long should a connection still be usable? I don't think a connection from the 80s would no longer be permissible nowadays.... If we hadn't built now, it probably would have remained connected for the next 20 years. cheers, subx

Yes, but that's just how it is, the regulations change and for new connections, etc., different rules apply...FCKW was also not a problem in the 80s

It's like with the [TÜV]. If you don't go, no one cares until you either A) get caught, or B) your car falls apart on its own.

So our water connection was laid on the property in 1960 and could be used without any problems, only the first section was replaced because the excavator destroyed it while digging. :)

The first two statements are really helpful?!?!? I would have it checked again, also by a building expert, with my parents the connection was also from the 50s and could be taken over without any problems, the fact that the clock in the house is changed is a different story

Well... I also found that very helpful above :) Meanwhile, the old bracket was simply cut off.... so now none of it makes any sense anymore... Still, thank you very much for the answers... apparently it's all due to the responsible employees of the company.... There are no legal bases for any of this. The only question is who is responsible for something like this when, like in my case, two opinions diverge... arbitration board etc.
