How is the window arrangement on the front side?

Hello,

I have attached a hand-drawn sketch and I am unsure how to arrange the window surfaces in the area circled in green there. Behind it will be the bedroom. I have also attached another picture as inspiration. It cannot be implemented 1:1 because our house has different dimensions (it is larger) and it would then be too much. It is also a question whether all windows that deviate from the norm (meaning not square, practical) are significantly more expensive or generally still affordable.

Regarding the dimensions. The relevant area is 5.5m wide and 5m high at the ridge. Also happy to have drawings showing how such a window/glass front could look.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I have tried to describe it as accurately as possible; if anything is unclear, please feel free to ask.

Does the sketch reflect your house? Or is it even approximately like that? It actually depends on the width and height, because you plan the effect created by the windows accordingly. For example, the house in the photo: if you want to reduce the window areas, in my opinion at least the floor-to-ceiling window next to the fireplace including the pointed window at the top should remain. Then, to support an effect, a slender window (with a parapet) in the existing wall. If the house is wider and the roof not as pointed, the proposal would probably look different. And down below there are only these two "simple" windows without any additional frames?

Apart from the fact that the honest answer here is: "about 42," I am repeatedly shocked by how many wrong starting points there are to begin planning a house. Researching individual parameters without context and hoping to accidentally discover the key to the right question is certainly anything but productive. In this way, I see you wasting a lot of time and paying your dues. Many homeowners stand in their own way with the delusional idea that their home has to turn out somehow unique. The "spark" comes in the hairstyle at the very end.

Bedroom window .. so so ... What about blackout for the night? Who can see in from where? How is the window cleaning planned? As additional questions to the comments of my predecessors.

Professionally and objectively, there are certain rules for design, architecture, and human well-being.

You are welcome to google and read about the "Golden Ratio." Then you might be able to plan a bit further.

The Golden Ratio is a design rule that denotes the division ratio of a line or another dimension. The ratio is 1:1.618 and is perceived by many people as particularly harmonious. Therefore, this proportional rule is often used in art, architecture, and design.

That's probably why the question about "normal windows".

Forget it, trying to replicate a sophisticated design piece when the conditions aren't right. On a heavy lady, "belly-exposed" will always look bad, even if it's "her color".
