Hello dear forum,

I moved into a new apartment a few weeks ago and have no idea about heating/hot water. Now of course the question arises for me: how do I change that? The best way is to ask people who know about it.

I have the following unit standing in the bathroom here. Can anyone make sense of it? Basically, I am interested in the function, the operation, and any potential risks and side effects to consider.

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards,

The Clueless.

Hi,

rough guess: the upper box is the hot water boiler. The lower one is a gas-powered radiator for the bathroom. My brother has something like that in his old apartment. However, there should also be radiators like the lower box in the other rooms.

Best regards,

Andreas

Correct. Gas-powered instantaneous water heater. Just Google Junkers Hydropower. Somewhere on the device you'll definitely find an exact model number for further information.

Google helps here as well. Haller Meurer gas stove – then you'll see that it is an OLD gas radiator. If you look a bit, you will also find a model number on or inside the device and can search for a manual.

The devices are neither particularly intelligent, nor can much be adjusted. I would just tinker with them hands-on and see what happens. What are you unhappy with that makes you want to learn something about the devices?

Hi,

ahjo, that already helps a bit, thanks. But that is the only radiator of that form, the others look as follows:

I am not dissatisfied, it's just that this is the first gas-powered apartment I live in and I just want to get some information. As I said, also about risks to watch out for, you do hear things every now and then.

Best regards,

Wow, I think that already counts as an antique.

But it will do what it is supposed to do, namely heat. How effective it is is another question...
