How do I create a slope, and how do I best compact it?

Thank you. Well, a shovel and wheelbarrow will do. Such a planting ring is indeed heavier. I've already carried/rolled so many of them alone. We have provisionally secured our low slope with them.

Don't underestimate the amounts you have to move. A wheelbarrow is just a drop in the bucket. I would find someone who can operate a mini excavator and profile the slope at the desired angle. You might be able to cover the new soil yourself. But if the excavator is there anyway, it will also spread the new soil, and you only have to smooth everything out with the rake.

Oh, no worries, we don't underestimate that. We have already distributed 95 cbm by hand.
So I know what kind of work is behind it.

Ok, I didn't know that, then I wouldn't do it myself. Personally, I don't like the round gray plant rings. Better to catch it with natural stones. It just costs amount x.

They also come in square - they look a bit more modern that way. And at the back of the property, they don’t spoil the appearance either.

Yes. But I generally don’t believe in embankments steeper than 75°. Whether that really impresses the soil, I dare to doubt. I have never researched whether there is also "weed" in tree nurseries, but something with nasty roots was probably best to stabilize the ground. Or – this just came to me as a spontaneous crazy idea (although there’s no schnapps at all in my coffee) – the embankment could be built in vertical layers (alternating with interspersed clay layers). What I no longer remember: what is the purpose of the embankment, and is it loaded with anything besides its own weight? Draw the intended cross-section.
