How dense must the shell construction be?

Good evening,

general question: how airtight does a shell construction have to be?

During the inspection of our shell construction, we first noticed a gap at a drill hole for an electrical outlet: the white gap in the photo is the space between two bricks, i.e. there is a direct gap to the outside here and you can feel a slight draft. The electrical outlet will probably not seal this completely. At another spot, the bricks also do not close precisely and you can see outside (2nd photo).

Is this considered "botched work" and should we complain, or is this normal and will the plaster make it airtight?

PS: no insulation will be applied on the outside anymore. These are unfilled 36.5 bricks.

Thank you very much in advance!

The manufacturer of the bricks usually also publishes so-called "processing instructions," which state which "gaps" are acceptable to what extent and how to deal with them in practice. For Poroton bricks, the instructions say that gaps from 50mm should be filled with a piece of brick. Gaps between 15 and 50mm must be completely filled with lightweight mortar. Between 5 and 15mm, it is sufficient to seal both sides of the wall surfaces with lightweight mortar, and anything below 5mm requires no further measures. Airtightness is achieved by the plaster, and light penetration during the shell construction does not constitute a defect. This is stated in the information sheet.

After consultation regarding our construction project, I am allowed to close such "gaps" with lightweight mortar (LM21) however I like, and I get the material for free. However, since we have no gaps larger than 15mm, this is rather to satisfy the inner perfectionist than a technical/energetic necessity.
