How can I remove plaster?

almost two years ago we decided not to stick wallpaper on our walls anymore, but to use only textured plaster. However, we have now realized that retro colors and wallpaper are in high demand again and we are annoyed and of course regret our decision. But what can we do to make our walls wallpaperable again? How can we make them smooth again?

I’m afraid you have no other choice but to chip off the plaster again. Because sanding will definitely take just as long and certainly won’t be associated with less dirt. Less dust is produced when chipping.

I also believe that you should almost beat it down, because sanding won't get you far and besides, it's an even much bigger effort.

Hello, it is useless if you just smooth out the plaster again; if it is to be done properly, the stuff has to come off. I hope for your sake that the wall surface is not too large because otherwise it will be a huge job that I do not envy you.

That probably depends on how rough the textured plaster is, because if it is not so grainy, then you can only sand it. It is enough if the plaster is smooth, then the wallpaper looks very good on it. A coat of paint also only looks good if the surface is smooth.

see if there is a product that can soften the stuff. Then you could scrape it off, I once saw in a brochure how that works. Unfortunately, I can no longer remember what it was called.
