A morning hello to everyone,

The time for the delivery of our kitchen is getting closer, and I am quite excited about the installation. There is definitely a bit of respect...

There will surely be plenty more questions. However, at the moment there is one question that concerns me the most. It is very crucial for my schedule.

Namely, how are the METOD kitchen cabinets delivered? Are the carcasses of the base cabinets already pre-assembled? Or do I have to build them myself? Basically no problem, I just need to plan for one more day for the kitchen installation...

Thanks a lot for your answers!

Best regards
Thomas

Typically Ikea, EVERYTHING comes in individual boxes and completely disassembled! Our kitchen consisted of 83 boxes (without fronts, without countertop, without electrical appliances) I spent the evening with a bottle (or rather more) assigning each package to a cabinet and each cabinet a number. Otherwise, you eventually get lost in a flood of cardboard boxes!

... if you want to estimate which tasks are coming up for you: you can download the assembly instructions from the Ikea website.

I had some fun collecting all the manuals of our kitchen in a stack It is now as thick as the countertop at the end

Oh, we only have a total of 11 cabinets... 2x corner base cabinet 2x 80cm base cabinets with drawers 2x 60cm base cabinets with drawers 1x 20cm pull-out pantry 2x corner wall cabinet 1x 60cm wall cabinet and 1x tall cabinet 140cm. Hope I can complete the kitchen assembly in 2, rather 3 days.

Is that realistic? I'm not a carpenter, but not completely inexperienced...

Hard to say, because we had so many other things to do on the side. Assembling the carcasses alone will surely take a day. Assembling the drawers and drilling the fronts takes quite a long time. With electrical appliances, countertop, and everything included, 3 days (IMHO) with only a professional craftsman (cabinetmaker) is exhausting but possible, provided everything is there and nothing unexpected comes up. (We once had to quickly remove the windowsill - 1.5 hours... etc.) Do you have a cabinetmaker or similar who installs the cabinets or makes the countertop and so on?
