House from the 60s - leave the interior plaster or remove it completely?

Here opinions differ. I have already had 2-3 craftsmen in the house, one of whom said that it makes sense to renew the entire interior plaster, the others said that would be a waste of time and money because it is completely unnecessary if the interior plaster, despite being 60 years old, is still in good condition. What is the common opinion?

Why does one want to renew the plaster? What other renovations are planned?

I have gutted the entire house. Ultimately, a KFW 70 standard is to be achieved. - new roof - new house insulation - ventilation system - new heating (heat pump / underfloor heating) -.... (the list is practically endless and has already been listed in several forum posts here.) For me, the question arises why some experts recommend that I knock off all the interior plaster, even if it still adheres well and was and is dry. In the former kitchens and wet rooms, I followed the recommendation because I did not want to take any health risks here.

To generate orders and income. Then I would also leave it on. Even here the plaster would still have been usable. I have never had the plaster replaced during a renovation in any of my properties. Even in the owner-occupied house, the plaster from the 1960s is still on.

If the plaster looks OK, I would leave it as is.

On the other hand, you mention gutted. That immediately makes me think of renewing the electrical and water systems or bringing them up to date and adding network cabling. If a lot of new chasing has been done, you might also consider new plaster.

Yes, the electrical and water have also been completely removed and need to be reinstalled. Chasing has been kept to a minimum, so it would be fine.

My main concern was about the sensibility, since the house — and the plaster — have indeed reached a certain age.
