Hello everyone,

I saw yesterday that one of the major prefab manufacturers is auctioning off a "voucher" worth €250,000, which can be used to build a house. So it's a kind of charity auction: the proceeds go to a nonprofit organization.

Basically, it's quite appealing if the auction result is lower than €250,000.

But now I wonder: is this even legitimate? Does anyone know what to watch out for?

The auction still runs for a while, and before I bid, I want to be sure I’m not getting myself into trouble. It's about a lot of money.

What do you think?

Michaela

Why not?

The question is, do I get the same for 250k as with this voucher? Or is there still a distinction in the fine print?
The auction offer is unfortunately not very informative, but since it is held on a platform that I consider trustworthy, I think this "voucher" is genuine.
The provider will then write off the house as a donation on their taxes, and the buyer will have a good feeling about having done something good with their house purchase.
However, I can very well imagine that the price will exceed €250,000. After all, it's not about a house here, but about the purpose behind it.

Hi there, thanks for your assessment.
So you know which auction I meant? I didn’t want to make any advertising here..
I actually also think it’s serious.. let’s see how the auction price develops.

How naive or gullible can one actually be?

@Wastl, that's exactly one of the questions.. ;)

@€uro: What exactly are you trying to tell me? That it's naive or gullible to participate in an auction? Or that it's naive or gullible to get informed about the topic? A helpful contribution looks different. Pull yourself together here and ask your mommy what helpfulness means.

Certainly!
Certainly not, on the contrary, it is always an advantage to inform oneself beforehand!
What is a helpful, objective, sales-independent contribution? ;-)

Best regards
