Hello, a question about the hourly wage for the terrace installation. Old terrace off, new one on. Possibly new substructure. An independent contractor came. Good impression, currently available, wants €28/h and says he needs a maximum of 3 days for 35 sqm. Isn’t €28 quite low?

Let him do it and if it is done properly, give him e.g. €200.- extra, then both are more than satisfied

28€ is certainly net. Otherwise, it's his problem how he calculates.

sorry, 28€ can't work. At least not for the entrepreneur. Of course, it's possible that he just slaps the thing (Terrace) together, then 28€ might even be too much (for you). But without accusing the provider of anything (bad work), I rather believe in faulty calculation (or maybe undeclared work). Many craftsmen without a commercial background tend to make their calculations too optimistic. How is he supposed to finance necessary tools, build reserves, factor in risks (something can always go wrong that he has to pay for himself), payment defaults, contribute to retirement provisions, pay office costs, etc. The time he spends in the office must also be calculated (no one does the paperwork for free, and that reduces the quoted price by at least 15-20%). For all the reasons mentioned above, I don't think this is a good idea (for the entrepreneur). Currently, mEA probably 45-50€ will be necessary. No idea why, somehow I keep getting more left-wing and radical.

yes sorry exactly net. Although he is not averse to "black is beautiful" either. But I don’t want that. The fairy tale tax is not immense

That is already very cheap, our garden landscaper charges 48€/h net. Surely he can do great work, but I would wonder why he is so cheap... two neighbors also found quite cheap companies, and at both sites the construction is constantly at a standstill for days and has simply not been finished for ages.
