Hello everyone,

my wife and I own a house (3-story, no finished basement, about 90 sqm living space per apartment) that is in great need of renovation, meaning new windows, new heating system (since it is electric heating), new water pipes, new electrical wiring! We are quite inexperienced in this business and are considering what would now be more cost-effective! Demolition and new construction!? (solid or prefabricated house), gutting and complete renovation!? So as you can see, questions upon questions

A prefabricated or solid house is a matter of personal preference; if you have a reasonable provider, one is not worse or better than the other. Just free yourself from the notion that a prefabricated house is built faster than a conventionally constructed building; reputable providers will inform you about this. From my experience, I can tell you that the renovation will probably cost you more than a complete demolition followed by new construction. However, judging this over distance is difficult to impossible without precise knowledge of the property. Whether you ultimately renovate or decide on a new build—you definitely need an expert who can competently inform you about the renovation effort. Only after receiving this report on the existing property can you decide where the journey should go! Kind regards
