Hello, first post and probably also a beginner question ;-)

I had my basement waterproofed by a company, and soon the facade will also be renovated and insulated.
The work on the basement is basically finished, only the composite blocks and the corresponding gravel / sand are missing.

The executing company installed the perimeter insulation relatively unevenly (in terms of height). In some places, the boards lie below the currently filled gravel.

Now my question: Are there guidelines for how high the perimeter insulation must be installed? My plasterer said ideally ~10cm above the later height of the composite blocks.
I had discussed this with the company boss as well, but the workers have now left and the insulation is still only approximately at the height of the gravel.

Thank you for your help!

Hello,

what kind of facade insulation is planned?
And who planned all of this?
Normally, someone should have thought about how the transition between facade insulation and perimeter insulation should look.

Hello, the facade is insulated with an ETICS (140mm on the sides, 100mm on the front and back), the base area with 100mm. This was coordinated with the plastering company. And as mentioned, it was discussed with them that the perimeter insulation should be installed 10 cm higher than the composite stones. I have also passed this on to the construction company. My question is whether there are guidelines for this. Thank you in advance for your answer!

Hello,

Of course, there are guidelines and standards. For example, DIN 4108 (thermal insulation in building construction), DIN 18195 (building waterproofing), the Energy Saving Ordinance, guidelines or processing instructions from the ETICS manufacturers, etc.

But the question is how the transition from perimeter insulation / facade insulation and base formation was planned. Someone must have given it some thought. And if it was planned and agreed upon, for whatever reason, that the insulation should have a certain height, then your contractor must adhere to the agreements, unless he violates any regulations. Is there no contract or scope of services?

Regards
