The description only states delivery in the pot. What is important about that?

Well, they propagate more easily. There is soil around it. Pull out of the pot, bury, press down a bit all around, water briefly, done. Bare-root plants must be planted with potting soil, otherwise they won’t take root.

Thank you, I hadn’t thought of something like that at all, but what does that have to do with the question about the irrigation system?

You could do without it for container goods. Just water with a hose occasionally in dry weather.

Last year we planted 130 blood beeches, "bare-root plants". The planting distance is about 33 cm and I used a "drip hose" from Gardena. To be exact, I had to use 2 pieces because they are only sold in 25 or 30 m lengths. That basically works quite well. I believe it is rather beneficial if the space between the plants is also watered. According to the nursery, this stimulates root growth.

However, in the first summer, either I did not have to water at all because it rained, or it was so hot and windy here that the new lawn had to be watered 1-2 times a day. In that case, I simply took the garden hose and did everything with it.

gave you the answer. Irrigation questions start at the root, not at the top
