Hello, hello....

so this is my first post in this forum.....Hello everyone first of all.

We, that is my girlfriend and I, have now started building. The house is being built by a construction company except for the electrical work, which I am doing myself.

Now I have a few questions.

We insulated the base plate with 10 cm insulation. The exterior walls are insulated with cavity insulation from Rockwool. One board of 60mm and on top of that a board staggered with 80 mm. The roof will have insulation of 240mm. The windows are triple-glazed and have a value of 0.8.

We are getting a normal gas heating system installed in the house and are putting radiators in the rooms.

Now according to the new regulations, we have to use renewable energy. We have now looked at the Vaillant auro VSC 196 20 and find Vaillant really good. The system comes with a 150-liter stratified storage tank for two solar collectors included in the set.

Our house has a size of 120m² and the two of us live in the house.

Now my question, is the heating system with the collectors sufficient? And do I need a residential ventilation system with the insulation? If yes, can I already lay the pipes and retrofit the rest later? Unfortunately, the dear money also plays a role.

I would be very happy about tips.

Regards

Stefan

Hello Stefan,

what is the heating system supposed to cover?

A controlled ventilation system with heat recovery is advisable. The necessary flat ducts and outlets should be installed by a specialist company.

Whether solar systems are sensible is a matter for debate.

What does the energy certificate that your builder created say? Who is planning the heating technology for your construction?

Hello,

first of all, I would go for underfloor heating, no matter what kind of heating system.
The main thing is to have low flow temperatures from the start.

This way you can switch to another heating system if gas becomes too expensive.

Collectors and heating is a topic on its own. But it doesn't help much.
Here I can only agree with 6Richtige.

Best regards

Hi,
so you mean I should have the pipes laid better.
Why? Is it that difficult?
I looked at a system from Maico....

Yes, solar can be debated, especially here in northern Germany.
But I have to use renewable energy.......
And that’s what I meant, whether the heating system with two collectors is enough for that.

We received from the BU a "Proof of energy-saving thermal insulation and energy-saving system technology for buildings according to the Energy Saving Ordinance 2009."
That’s 10 pages...... which I don’t understand.

We had underfloor heating in mind as well.
With the heating system, it is generally a problem.
There is no real planning and the heating master (boss) doesn’t really know anything either..... poor to no advice....
So a 60-year-old East Frisian, with whom you can’t come up with anything new.

It’s quite difficult here in the countryside.

So I’m grateful for any tips.

Regards

Stefan

Hello,

so I see it this way, you can get the 2 collectors to comply with the Energy Saving Ordinance 2009. Although, given your house description, that already surprises me.

Why even Energy Saving Ordinance 2009, if you are building now, don’t you have the permit according to Energy Saving Ordinance 2007?

Isn’t that a KfW70-2007 house with a favorable KfW loan?

Wouldn’t it make sense to go for underfloor heating with a DV heat pump and collect the BAFA subsidy? (without collectors, so rather invest the money and the subsidy in the heating system, then you are also independent of gas, don’t need a chimney, and have no gas standby fees.)

The high flow temperature of radiators does you no good with renewable energies. Even with a stratified storage tank, the collectors cool down the storage in winter. That can even cause a loss.

Best regards

Hello,

I guess most of these nice suggestions will fail because of money. Because a gas condensing boiler with a token solar system is simply the cheapest investment-wise. Unfortunately, with these off-the-shelf houses (sorry), the builder just pulls a plan out of his pocket and says this is cheap. Everything else would have to be calculated, which the builder and probably your installer cannot do either.

I would probably stick to the Energy Saving Ordinance 2009 standard, why build worse now.

Controlled residential ventilation should definitely be there. You can lay the ducts yourself if you know how to do it :D

I would definitely do underfloor heating. If you absolutely want radiators, there are heat pump radiators that operate in a temperature range similar to underfloor heating. But that’s actually something for renovation cases.

Now to heat generation

For the small budget, condensing boiler with solar system

For the medium budget, air-water heat pump with solar system, but you definitely have to calculate first, not just buy.

For the big budget, ground-source heat pump with solar systems and building core activation. For heat storage, ceilings, walls, and foundations are used; in extreme cases, ground collectors are needed.

It’s also nice that you can cool with it in the summer. Consolar also offers an alternative that works with an ice storage as a long-term storage for solar heat. Even fancier is the hybrid solar collectors that generate electricity and heat simultaneously.

After that, you can sit back on the terrace and give gas and electricity suppliers the middle finger. Although you will be several thousand euros poorer.
