Hello everyone,

I am currently considering whether we should build Kfw55 or Kfw70.
What are the average annual heating costs of a KfW55 house compared to those of a KfW70 house?

This information would already help me with the planning!

Thanks and regards
Herbert

Hello,

in my opinion, the respective heat demand calculation/heating load calculation provides insight. The heat generator is also taken into account here. At least, you have data that you can compare. This way, you can weigh the higher investment costs against the savings potential.

How the actual heating costs look is a different matter anyway (personal temperature preferences, shower/bathing behavior, etc.).

There is no reliable general answer to this. The actual demand must first be determined and, based on that, depending on the heat generator, the actual consumption must be established. This should always be done in advance as part of the basic assessment.

Best regards

How can I carry out a heat demand calculation/heating load calculation? Is there an online tool for that?

Thanks and regards

Good morning,

are you planning a custom architect-designed house or a "standard" one?

The house building company has all the relevant data for their respective models and can at least provide data for Kfw 70 and 55 for a comparable model.

That was the case for us (prefabricated house). Here, you could look at the data for the standard model of each series, depending on the heat generator. The company knows the values of their walls, roofs, etc. At least we had a relatively good comparison of KfW 70, 55, 40 along with the corresponding additional costs.

A good company should be able to provide the appropriate figures/data so that you can make a comparison. After all, they also provide the final energy certificate, Blower-Door test, etc. At least, that was the case for us.

Regards...

If you don't want to build a huge castle, it will hardly make a difference. For us, going from KfW 70 to 55 cost about €8000. You get €2500 back from the government, leaving €5500.

You can heat for quite a while with that. But because of the installed ventilation system, the living comfort is also higher... that's why we decided on it. According to a forum of customers of my provider, the heating costs per month with a simple gas boiler are €30-60 per month, depending on heating demand and region.
