The question is justified and not easy to answer. There are plenty of MEP planning offices. However, the majority are rather focused on large-scale projects. Accordingly, the "overhead = general costs" and the subsequent expenses. In addition, completely different conditions and experience are required for the "small" single-family house sector. Also, MEP planning strictly according to HOAI for a single-family house is hardly affordable. In my opinion, it is also not necessary here. It is completely sufficient to clarify the most essential problem points. In new construction planning, regional allocation is not necessary. For example, I have also planned systems in [A] without ever having met the client or architect. In existing buildings, it looks quite different. Here, an on-site inspection is usually, but not always, indispensable.Side question: How do I even find a good MEP planner?
Regards.
