Have you ever heard of something like this... mixed construction methods?

At our place, the ground floor is solid, then comes a concrete ceiling, then the upper floor is a timber frame construction with a wooden "beam" ceiling. I would rather call it a wooden stick ceiling. It had to be solid at the bottom because the house is half embedded in the hillside.
