Has anyone already shopped at IKEA abroad here?

Since I am still missing quite a few things for the kitchen and especially my desired sink (Norrsjön) is not available in Germany in the medium term, the idea came up to drive to Poland and get the remaining items there. It's just under two hours by car and pretty much everything I still need is also much cheaper there. Even with the calculated fuel costs, I would still save a lot.

- What about complaints/warranty? Would I be out of luck in Germany, or is that not a problem?
- And is there anything else to consider? I can surely pay there normally with an EC card, right?

Merci

Before the trip, I would first get informed, because in some stores the sink is available again! A "guarantee" depends on the national law, no idea how it looks there. For complaints, you might also have to go to Poland!

Hello I am from Vienna and Ikea Bratislava in Slovakia is only 1 hour away. The prices there are about 30% lower and we bought the entire kitchen there. Delivery to Vienna cost about 110 euros. When assembling the kitchen, a few parts had to be exchanged (e.g. middle drawer for small drawer). Although the drawer was already assembled, Ikea Austria took back all parts and we received the Slovak price credited to the Ikea card. So no problem at all! Best regards Section Chief

That is simply not true. You also cannot have a kitchen delivered from Cologne or Kaarst to the Netherlands. Just because Austria does this does not mean Germany has to do it as well. Personally, I do not know of any house in Germany that accepts returns of goods purchased abroad. Among other things due to lack of networking, organizational structure, etc. - Maybe they are simply set up differently in Austria.

For Ikea Vienna it is true that they accept returns of goods from Ikea BL. And for Ikea BL it is true that they deliver the goods to Austria. How it is in Germany I do not know. Best regards Section Chief

However, the Austrian Family Card unfortunately cannot be used in BL. But if you politely ask the people at the cashier if they can briefly lend you their Family Card (for the purpose of obtaining a discount), then that also works
