Hello everyone,

During a trip through the Ruhr area, we looked at some fireplaces at Hark and immediately found one we liked.

We decided on a marble fireplace 1/187. Through an acquaintance who built a few years ago, I learned that you can assemble such a fireplace yourself and save money.

Now the fireplace has been delivered, and we are facing the first hurdles of assembly.

The assembly instructions that were included in the mailbox are anything but related to our fireplace. All the instructions refer generally to the Hark fireplace series. A call to Hark only resulted in being told to contact our customer advisor. Said and done, if only they were reachable for us.

Perhaps someone has already purchased such a fireplace and can assist us with the assembly or possibly provide documents for us.

Thanks in advance.

Our Hark (in the sold existing house) was assembled by a professional. Arranged by Hark. Cost: €175.00, but that was four years ago. The instructions on the internet simply did not fit and still do not fit today. We recently had to experience this when the new homeowner moved the fireplace to tile behind it. Unfortunately, he completely disassembled it, and it took two days of reading through the internet for us to figure it out. It is now back together thanks to a YouTube video. Just have courage.

Hello EveundGerd,

First of all, thank you for your response.

It is really interesting that you got the fireplace installed for such a small amount of money. Hark quoted us an installation cost in the three- or four-digit range. We wanted to save that money at the time. If the quote had been in the range of yours, we would certainly have commissioned them.

I was in contact this morning with a Mr. K. from Hark. He seems to know what he is talking about. We are now very curious about his answers, and it seems he is willing to guide us through the installation, which I found very nice. Really shocking! When we bought it, we were told that a detailed installation manual was included. And what came had nothing to do with our fireplace.

Unfortunately, on YouTube we only found the videos that are also on Hark's site with Mr. Pütz. But the installation is summarized in a time lapse, and unfortunately you don’t know which steps need to be done.

Not only the assembly instructions are worthless, the mini operation manual was no good either.

Unfortunately, our stove builder back then was not willing to explain the stove to us.
So we read up on a lot ourselves and figured out the rest.

More than once, we threw open all the windows. Conveniently, there was a nice big picture hanging nearby. At first, that was always used as a fan.

I admit, I will miss the very pleasant warmth, but absolutely not the dirt.

The stove builder was privately recommended to us by the saleswoman, but on an invoice. Have you asked around in your area if there is a stove builder who will install the stove for little money?
