Hello everyone,

does anyone here have the hand shower from Hansgrohe

- Raindance Select S 120 3jet with EcoSmart (9 liters/min)

or

- Rainfinity 3jet with EcoSmart (9 liters/min)

According to Hansgrohe marketing, the Raindance features "RainAir (rich, soft, air-enriched rain spray)"

and the Rainfinity features "PowderRain (extra-fine, enveloping rain)"

Which one is probably more pleasant and better for everyday showering? Can anyone report?

Best regards

Hey,

we currently have the Unterputz Raininfinity 3jet and as a small, separate shower head a Rainair. At my parents' place, I used to shower under a concealed shower head with Rainair.

To be honest, we really couldn’t do much with "Rainpowder" when we ordered the shower head online. But the video looked great.
In the end, I have to say that Rainpowder actually describes it very well. It’s a bit like a slightly stronger drizzle in condensed form. Very gentle. This also applies to the steam development, which, in my opinion, is significantly stronger than with the Rainair. Rainair is more the typical "shower head feeling," just noticeably softer due to the air mixture. With the separate shower head, we have both, but if I had to choose just one, it would still be the old model with Rainair. I mean, it’s also more attractive price-wise.

Please make sure that the pipes are designed for this if you’re not building new. Unless you’re doing the piping anyway. We needed a new drain and a new supply pipe because both were not designed for the water volumes. It might have worked anyway, but I didn’t want to take the risk of a rain shower that only drizzles lightly.

Oh, and none of this is the Eco version. I would actually be interested to know how that one is or whether it works satisfactorily. Somehow, the flow rate of an Eco with 9 l/min seemed too little to me for such a large shower head. That’s why I unfortunately decided against the Eco version.

Thank you for your reply. Hhmm, the decision is not easy for me. I’m afraid the only way is to try.

No, we only want the handheld shower and no fixed installation, so I think 9 l/min is already sufficient. Especially since we only have a 300 L hot water tank for the planned 4 people. A proper rain shower with 30 l/min is not so good there.

We have both.
You know "RainDance". It contains air that breaks the continuous jet into droplets. It's already available for 20€ at the hardware store, probably everyone knows it.
PowderRain is much, much finer. It's almost like a mist. Advantages: sprays very little, is very quiet, you are almost like in a mist instead of a water jet. Disadvantages in my opinion are that due to the even higher amount of mixed-in air the "jet" is cooler, meaning you turn the hot water hotter. The bath also reliably turns into a mist cave, afterwards you have to ventilate thoroughly.

So if you choose one and primarily want to shower "normally," then probably the RainDance / RainAir, right?
