Hello everyone,

we need to make a final decision on a bathtub spout / bathtub faucet.
So far, we had planned to integrate the bathtub spout into the bathtub or the overflow.
The background is that we currently have a surface-mounted faucet and I have bumped into it more than once already.
Now I have come across the Hansgrohe ShowerTableSelect bathtub thermostat 400.
The big advantage is that you can fold away the spout. In addition, it offers a shelf and probably doesn't look much bulkier than an embedded faucet + holder for the showerhead.
However, I don't see any temperature indication in the pictures on the internet and therefore wonder how the thermostat works.
Does anyone happen to have this faucet in use?
What is your experience with it?

Best regards

The control (rotary knob) regulates the temperature and will work like other thermostats. I doubt whether the foldable spout would contribute to bulkiness if it couldn't be folded in. The whole thing looks rather bulky anyway, as it is not segmented. But it still looks good. I wouldn't buy it because of the rotatable inlet, as I see a problem there that it won't work in the long term (limescale). Otherwise, yes.

On all other thermostats, a temperature number is indicated somewhere so that one knows which temperature corresponds to the mentioned setting. Therefore, I was surprised that it is missing here. But maybe it just doesn’t show well in the pictures either. However, I have now found a review on the big pond. Unfortunately, the part doesn’t come off so well... The whole construction seems to be made of plastic and the setting of the water strength is only possible up to a maximum 30% reduction. Probably not the real deal after all... It will come down to a built-in thermostat after all...

Actually not. There is a stopper at 37.5 or 38 degrees. Before that it is blue, after that red. Nothing more.

Or at 40. There are many who don’t have any indication at all. The number is also not decisive (I would suspect it’s not even correct). What matters is that it maintains the temperature in one setting, no matter what comes out of the pipes in the back (of course, there must be enough hot water, otherwise it won’t work).

I actually meant this number. It was not visible in the pictures. But it is there. It is located between the temperature control and volume control. But the fact that the whole part is made of plastic discouraged us too much. We have now decided on the bathtub inlet via overflow and concealed fitting. Let's hope there is no defect.
