Hello everyone,

we want to build (have built) our carport soon and need to support the slope of the [Lichthof] beforehand. The [Lichthof] is about 9m long and about 1.5m high. On one short side it is already secured with planting rings. A foundation is already planned, but we are not sure about the wall. Can a mortared natural stone wall withstand the pressure? Or should planting stones be used instead? Can grass grid stones also be used? Is a foundation needed then? The car weighs just under 1.5 tons.
I am grateful for any advice and experience you share with me.

Best regards
Annette

This is what a courtyard is called, which exists for the purpose of windows opening out onto it. I suspect that here a slope is meant, which is supposed to bring light into a basement apartment. And against its top edge now presses a parking space, if I understand correctly, and the car is not supposed to trigger a landslide into the large light well (and thereby even drive downhill itself).

The fastening actually generates 2 soundproofings.
That means about 10 cm of concrete wall starts the pressure, with reinforcement, and in front of it you can put anything available for the appearance.

Thank you for the explanation of the atrium, , but maybe should still confirm or possibly correct that. A drawing would also be helpful.

The idea is okay as far as the separation of appearance and construction is concerned, but I suspect the concrete wall alone might be compressed incorrectly. My keyword would be "batter angle." But maybe the OP will first respond to clarify how accurately I have interpreted her, or perhaps even with a drawing.
