We spilled a bottle of salad dressing on our 50-year-old sealed parquet floor a week ago. Although no stains were initially visible, we have now noticed after a few days that the oil has penetrated into the cracks and thus into the wood fibers. We are now somewhat unsure how to clean these grease stains. One idea would be pipe clay, which would "absorb" the fat. Does anyone have experience with this or another tip? Many thanks!

Hello unlucky one,
Using pipe clay (kaolin or also white clay) could work, but this stain removal method is especially successful when the fresh stain is treated immediately.
With sealed wooden floors, it should be added that dirt penetrates the wood through the old, probably cracked sealant (pressure from walking or seeping liquids "helps" with this), but it is not equally certain that the same way is used to be drawn out again.
Just give it a try, the method itself is proven effective.
