Producing one kWh of electricity via photovoltaics costs about 4 cents. If you use it yourself, it also costs about 4 cents in VAT. In addition, you forgo the feed-in tariff of about 10 cents per kWh. So, ultimately, the kWh of photovoltaic electricity converted into heat by the heating element costs you about 18 cents. One kWh of gas costs 5-6 cents, so about a third. Photovoltaic electricity – yes, gladly. But not converted 1:1 into heat, that would be stupid. Better to feed it into the grid; you make a profit with that.

Thanks, I would use the electricity myself. Feeding in the meager 10 cents isn’t really attractive.

I still find it hard to understand how people can still install gas nowadays.... the costs for it will probably rise sharply and it is simply a waste of finite resources.

And why no photovoltaics built? It can be financed separately on favorable terms and you ALWAYS make a profit with it. And you also do something good for the climate.
Making no profit with it is really hard to achieve. Just leave out the storage and do a price comparison, then it works!
