Hello

we are looking for a garden house or tool shed for our garden

Can someone recommend a good garden house for tools and storage space?
What should be considered?
Which material? I don't want real wood because of the maintenance and it should not be extremely loud in the rain (mostly metal)
What size is normal? I was thinking about 3x3m or something like that
Do you have to pour a foundation or are ground slabs sufficient?

Permit required or not.
Distance regulation or not.
Consider what should go inside and what kind of protection the little house should provide.

The design of the little house depends on this. Depending on the location and type of house, a few drive-in sleeves as a "foundation" or securing against being blown away are sufficient. Ground plates are generally also enough. Of course, it can always be of higher quality. In the garden, I like the pragmatic "African" approach that I learned from my father, who grew up in Angola – working with what's available, thinking a bit, and just doing it. If something breaks, you can also repair or optimize it yourself. Some people are amazed at how inexpensive and good this works and how long things then last.

ok
can you tell me good manufacturers or providers of such garden sheds where I can have a look?
that are also not so extremely expensive?

planned are first some normal things lawn mower charcoal grill 2-3 bicycles

the shed should also not be too small. preferably as large as possible

price I would say max 1000-1500€

which material metal or WPC
the shed should definitely be weather-resistant and maintenance-free (without painting and so on)
are metal sheds very loud when it rains?

Hello,

if metal and wood are excluded, you can only use PVC. I once had a rubbish bin enclosure made of it and never again! Plastic is unsuitable for outdoor use; it blew away in a storm!

I don’t understand the objection to wood. What effort do you have there? I painted the wood once and then (5 years) did nothing. Everything was fine.

I cannot share your concerns regarding the maintenance effort for wood. You can leave larch untreated for a very long time, even cheap hardware store huts hold up very well and remain attractive if you care for them carefully. Plastic is completely unnecessary in this case; I cannot recommend anything.
