I have the following problem:

Currently, a classic garden fence with a 2-wing gate (total about 4m wide) is installed.

I want to automate it, but I am not allowed to replace it with a modern sliding gate etc. due to building regulations. (I would then have to completely redesign the driveway and also cede land to the municipality)

I sketched a makeshift solution with push buttons and ropes controlled by 2 motors, but I am sure I am not the only one who has had to solve such a problem.

Maybe there is something out of the box.

Since you unfortunately did not upload a drawing, I have no idea what you want with any ropes.

What you are looking for is a swing gate operator.

On Ebay there is a set for 160 euros. Apparently, you are not allowed to post the link there. ->Ebay -> Swing gate opener -> sort by price, it is something around 160 Does it work? Experiences? Or does it have to be a Hörmann for 500 to 1000 euros?

I didn't look for it, but keep in mind that the drive is exposed to wind and weather and is probably supposed to last a few years. I don't think it makes sense to go for the cheapest option. At least with garage door drives, you also have to consider how much force needs to be applied. I think it’s similar with swing gate drives.
