Hello dear community,
I won’t even ask if anyone has experience with a sectional door. Who has experience with a roller door?

We are now facing the question of which option we should choose.

In the garage there is logically a car, separated by a wall the workbench.

Can you maybe give me some advice on which makes more sense?
Maybe one of you has installed a roller door and has a picture..?

Unfortunately, I cannot say anything about that. But I imagine a roller door to be very "space-wasting." The "sausage" has to go somewhere. And when I look at the pictures on the web, they also seem to be just large roller shutters. At least, that's how it looks.

Opening upwards: With a high ceiling, the room remains more usable with a rolling shutter. For standard height, the sectional door is recommended.

In principle, I consider both variants to be related; in the case of the roller door, the slat is more finely segmented in appearance and curved, whereas the sectional door panel is on the one hand larger in area and flatter, but on the other hand can be clad in such a way that it visually resembles a roller door. I would also consider how it harmonizes with the frame view of windows and doors. Moreover, both are also available as side-sliding. And for both it applies that stable qualities in dark colors are not cheap. Also know that for both, the manufacturers are often specialists who do not sell to end customers but white label to window specialists & co – as is also the case with door fillings.

I can't quite understand that^^ The roller door is like a window shutter, just bigger. A box is mounted at the top.

If that should be an option, then I would want the slats with the convex side inward. We have the roller shutters on the windows that way because there was a planning mistake back then and they were installed for us that way. Nevertheless, it looks good.

That's why the box would probably be bigger, I think...

But I see the "roller shutter box" having to lie in front of the gate :-( Why don’t you prefer to clad your sectional door with concavely profiled panels, where do you see the advantage of the roller shutter door?
