Hello everyone,

we are currently building a duplex and are just thinking about the furnishings. Attached is the relevant room. We have planned a large living/dining/kitchen area: the living/dining room is 7.41 meters wide and 5.42 meters deep. The kitchen is 13.5 sqm.

The red bar in the middle will be a "room divider lowboard" with a swivel TV. The dining room will be furnished with an 8-seat dining table.

Now we are planning the living room: how can it be sensibly furnished without blocking the path to the terrace sliding door? We have 5.42 m in length. We were thinking maybe an "XXL sofa" about 3.5 m wide. That would give us enough space below for the door and above for the glass element. Then we could possibly put a stool in front of it to create a reclining area. An L sofa or something with a recliner seems bad to us.

What ideas do you have?

It is a matter of taste or style, how one personally imagines it. The planning is often based on the desired furnishing - in that respect, the question is asked too late. One would think that DH builders have a hard time with their personal style: the furnishing questions keep lining up here in the forum :D
