Hello dear community,

some time ago I moved for work reasons from Ottobrunn (near Munich) to Hamburg and after a long search found a suitable attic apartment. Unfortunately, I have the problem that almost the entire apartment is penetrated by sloping ceilings. In other words: I don't have much storage space, as the entire apartment will probably have to rely on dressers. Unfortunately, even dressers from Ikea & Co. are still too tall for my small apartment.

Are there any specialized stores or online shops that focus on apartments with slopes and offer products - like for example in the picture attached? Or is only custom-made furniture from a carpenter an option, which would ultimately be costly? Who has a similar problem and can give tips.

Hello,

I would inquire with a cabinetmaker.

As our kitchen shows, a cabinetmaker, with comparable quality, is not necessarily more expensive than the "big" providers.

Unfortunately, I cannot offer any specific tips for Hamburg...

Regards,

Dirk

I absolutely agree with Dirk on this. We had custom-made furniture tailored for several rooms, some even with beautiful lighting. A comparison showed that we stayed between 20 and 25% below similar furniture available on the market (if there was anything comparable at all).

Is it a rental apartment or ownership?
The reason for the question - whether structural modifications can be made or not.

Years ago I watched a show where such floor-to-ceiling slopes were used quite cleverly. I thought the solution was absolutely great at the time.
A rail mounted at the bottom, a guide rail mounted at the top - one or more sliding doors inserted.
Possibly a few dividers in between, which can also be used directly for shelf mounting.

Just like that, the slope is partially gone and storage space has been created.
