First of all, thanks for the detailed answer. That’s what I feared. I would prefer a somewhat… hmm… digital way. No disrespect ;)

Just created folders and put it all in there.. Would be an option. How cooperative were the individual contract partners in delivering the documents directly digitally? :)
Or, to put it briefly: What was easiest and who completely refused to work digitally?

And I will not forget the really useful box anytime soon – thanks!

I have scanned everything and uploaded it to Google Drive. This way, I can quickly look something up and, if necessary, send it from anywhere. Thanks to OTR, I can search the full text.

Let me say this as someone experienced in administration. Paper. Not digital. There are retention periods for invoices. There is the necessity to still have plans, structural analyses, permits, etc. even in fifty years. Will there still be CDs then? Will there still be USB sticks? Cloud drives? Do you want to rely on Google for 50 years? Paper is simply patient. Durable. We still have registers in the archive from the 16th century. You certainly have to handle them carefully, but the writing is still legible.

Our company scans all invoices and destroys the paper version. If [google] should ever no longer exist, I'll just copy it somewhere else.

Do what you want.., I see it differently....ask the boss how he deals with [Notarverträgen], with [Bauplänen] etc. With official documents, like court rulings, permits etc.

I trust our legal department and the colleagues on the executive board who are responsible for it...
