I also do not necessarily see it as a lost cause, but I suspect that the original poster has the not uncommon attitude here of "without a large knee wall, one fears not being able to fit the square meters" – which also does not apply universally.Since the eaves height refers to the street level and depending on the terrain topology of the building plot a 20° shed roof can appear similar to a flat roof, I still see enough design possibilities.
