We are currently undertaking the energetic modernization of our house, [Inndndämmung], windows, and heating. We heat with oil, which I want to change. The heat losses will be significantly reduced, which will lead to a lower heating energy demand.

We do not yet know which type of heating we will choose; we are a bit overwhelmed. We will probably consult an energy advisor and want to prepare ourselves for the conversation. Does anyone here have a heat pump in their house, how is it, are they noisy, functional in the coldest winter?

Hello Herti, what needs to be considered in connection with lower heat demand and a new heating system: The flow temperature will be quite low and will no longer harmonize with the existing radiators. If you do not want to tear out all the floors to install underfloor heating or open walls for a wall radiant heating system, you need to think about new radiators.

I am also interested in heat pumps, is there anyone in the forum who has experience with them? You can read a lot about heat pumps on the internet, but nothing beats experience from real  everyday life.

Hello R2D2,

Heat pumps are among the most affordable heating systems and also very environmentally friendly... They take 75% of the heating energy from environmental energy. I am also considering between pellet heating and heat pumps for our house.

I can only say that our pellet heating system and heat pump work perfectly. We made that decision back then and it was the right one. We were able to reduce our energy costs by almost 70 percent.

That is a good saving. I am interested in the heat pump Sixmadun SMS-XP-6TU from Tobler. Has anyone had any experience with it here?
