Nice that it amuses you so much. I admittedly built my house around my hobbies and am observing with an open mind where I could still improve something in a potential further construction project.

There are round metal footrests - they are mounted diagonally in a corner. We have them like that too - cheap, and work perfectly

We solved it with a very long shower that has a small bench tiled in the back.
The drainage channel is in front of the bench. So far, I find this setup extremely practical, even with the kids. =)

Nope, to my surprise nothing really splashes to the other side. I once had a newspaper lying on the wall there, even that only got a few splashes. But there will still be a glass placed there, that still needs to be measured.

Thanks, this is currently one of the two options under consideration. Either like this or in the corner. This option has the advantage that the drain can be placed directly in front.
