I'm not surprised that some people chicken out when it comes to offering flush doors. It's simply much more complex than installing "normal" door frames. Every millimeter counts. Additionally, no one really wants to pay for the extra effort and thus the higher price.

But when the customer asks, they usually already have a rough idea where it's going. I would have estimated 1000-1500€.
What I liked best was:
"Uh.. yeah.. we have them. But not in the showroom. Besides, they're expensive and require a lot of consulting. And the boss's schedule is tight right now."
