Hello everyone,

we have a townhouse and would like to model the individual floor plans (4 levels, including basement) in a software (or have them modeled). Once we have the floor plans, we also want to place a few pieces of furniture with "this" software....

As a starting point, we have all the construction drawings, including sections, in printed form.

Is it difficult to "trace" the floor plans ourselves (==> can a jpg file with the floor plan possibly be imported into the software)? I saw on the internet that there is a provider who digitizes the floor plans and then we would receive a DWG file. Would I then be able to do something with the DWG file afterwards, i.e. use this file to furnish a house planning tool?

Best regards
Thomas

If you ask like that, you probably can't do anything with external files. Use Homebyme, set the EH floor plan as the background, and off you go.

Great, thank you very much!

I was just able to "draw" the ground floor without any major problems ;-)

If you already live in the house, you can measure all the dimensions, there are differences between the drawing and the house. A construction company works with an accuracy of only 0-10cm. The furniture is supposed to fit into the house and not just into the drawing. When the client said back then that the door has to be moved 20cm to the left, the drawing was not changed afterwards.
