Apart from the fact that a square is also one of the rectangles, with a rectangular house you have more exterior wall area for the same floor area. That, in turn, costs more. If you compare the exterior dimensions, you have slightly less interior space due to the additional exterior wall. Thus, flooring, underfloor heating, and screed will be somewhat cheaper.
As a layman, I assume that the 14x8 will be more expensive since it already has 2m² more floor area.
14x8 = 44 m linear exterior wall
11x10 = 42 m linear exterior wall
Interior dimensions would roughly be:
13.7x7.7 = 105.5m²
10.7x9.7 = 103.8m²
So, both more exterior wall and more costs for interior finishing for the elongated object.
