Hello everyone,

we are currently preparing the materials for the screed. However, there are different opinions about how to proceed with the floor construction.

We would do it now as follows:

On the raw floor comes 4 cm insulation, then 3 cm tacker board, on top of that pipes for underfloor heating and then the screed.
Is an Alujet Floorjet or a Katja foil needed between the raw floor and the insulation, or is it completely sufficient as it is?

In the area without [FBZ] we would lay a Katja foil on the insulation and then the screed on top.

Please let us know if this is okay!

Thanks!

I would favor the opinion of your planner :)

Hello forum,

I assume that you want to install a sealing membrane like "Knauf Katja Sprint," or similar.

This is a sealing membrane according to DIN 18195, or 18533, against rising moisture from the ground.

The membrane only makes sense in rooms on the lowest floor that are directly in contact with the ground. It is intended to prevent moisture from the ground from penetrating the floor.

In accordance with the standards, a professional plan must be created on site. This is usually done by the architect or a specialized planner. A missing professional plan for the sealing work constitutes a planning defect! If the building is on a hillside location, additional sealing measures in the area of the walls may be necessary.

The sealing membrane is installed directly on the concrete floor slab. This protects all subsequent components from moisture. Installation on the thermal insulation is not professional!

When installing, be sure to pay attention to a proper connection to the wall, etc. This is usually done with special system edge strips. Simply extending the sealing membrane up the wall does not constitute a professional wall connection!

Best regards
